A Brief History Of Wandleff
Previously, under a different name, Wandleff' had performed with the Murmurs Of Irma playing and recording across the land for nine long years, leaving behind the legacy of debut LP "Cloudwatch HQ", a beautiful and twisted journey through the band's take on "Modern Psychedelia".
The implosion of the Irmas saw the birth of Wandleff as a musician with his own style and agenda. Taking up arms with former Irmas vocalist Darryl Debeugny the pair produced a small number of Garage Punk gems in the guise of, "The 700s". These carefully crafted "Brain Shakers" would help shape Wandleff' own brand of fuzzy riff mania. From the paraniod fantasies of "We Are The Ones Who Control You" to the grotesque boastfullness of Remote Cardiac Lifeform, Wandleff' songs are fuelled by the shadows lurking amongst the dark corners of our minds, the things that we ignore and refuse to accept about ourselves and others around us.
"Wandleff rips off the gloss and leaves behind the cold stark reality of the world we live in. His songs reflect this both in creation and sound, buzzing chainsaw fuzz, pounding drum and bass sections and quirky melodies all captured in a snap shot flash that is almost over before it began."
What's New In Wandleff' World
December 2010 - It's been a good year for Wandleff, with his first set of recordings under his belt, namely the collection 'Turbulence In The Still Air'. He's now recording the follow up and hopes to finish it sometime in the first half of 2011. Musically the tracks are following in the same jolting mayhem as with '..Still Air' but Wandleff hopes to experiment further than he did on previous recordings. "More weird sounds are required! I've used stylophones through various effects and filters and a strange little hand made japanese synth, more of a toy really but great for messing around. I'm hoping that it will feature more on the new recordings but I want to experiment with whatever comes to hand. I've even considered dropping the guitar and fuzzing up something else instead, but we''ll see!"
